About
Katie is curious and playful by nature. She is deeply passionate about integrating self-enquiry, subtle awareness and transformational spiritual practices into everything she does.
Catalyst and inspiration: Just one month into her first trip to India (captured above) she experienced what felt like the unravelling of a deep, potent reminder - that our breath can be our best ally in achieving shifts in how we experience life. And that everyone deserves the chance to alchemise, to transform their lives.
Having spent the majority of her 20’s in hyperactive, cognitively charged states with a consistent presence of anxiety in her baseline and reaching burn-out, this lesson on the powerful simplicity of conscious breath was profound.
It became a catalyst for what has unfolded to be a wonderful journey of discovery and purposeful unlearning. It’s also been vital in supporting her navigate and move through the break-down of a 9 year romantic relationship, the decline in health (and then death) of her father, significant changes in direction - and essentially her evolving sense of identity.
Study: Dedicated to enquiry, Katie has studied Pranayama (breathwork), embodied Tantric meditation, Asana (movement), Himalayan Kriya (energetic body practices combining advanced pranayama techniques with intention, concentration, mudra and sound), Trauma-informed somatic practices, holistic Mindfulness practices and Mantra. She has undertaken more than 500 hrs of committed teacher trainings.
Offerings: Beyond trainings and theory, Katie teaches from her own practical embodiment and felt sense of these practices with the hope of re-awakening / deepening somatic understanding in the people she guides.
Katie loves to teach in intimate settings, acknowledging that not everyone has the desire, time or financial resources to visit a physical ‘studio’. She enjoys creating safe and inspiring spaces where practitioners can feel empowered to go beyond the analytical mind, following the call of self-enquiry and exploring both their sense of self and personal agency.
When she’s not teaching you’ll find her taking in the green spaces of her home town of Melbourne and channelling the teachings through her work in behaviour change, specialising in social issues such as family violence, social cohesion and gender equality.
